Our pelvic floor physical therapist offers several treatment options for men and women
Pelvic floor physical therapy is a specialty that deals with the muscles, nerves and connective tissue that support the pelvic organs, including the vagina, bladder and rectum. There are a variety of reasons why the pelvic floor gets weak, everything from aging and childbirth to trauma, urologic conditions and surgeries. Patients with these problems benefit from exercises, massage therapy, electrical stimulation and biofeedback treatments. Crystal Okenkpu DPT chose this field to make a strong impact on patients’ lives as they deal with these often-difficult issues.
Dr. Crystal Okenkpu understands that people may feel embarrassed and nervous about seeking physical therapy. “It’s normal to feel nervous, but seeking assistance with your symptoms will be one of the best choice your make for yourself rather than suffering alone in silence. There are resources we can use to help you overcome your symptoms.” She urges both men and women to get care. “Pelvic care is equally important for men and women.”
Crystal Okenkpu DPT is excited to work with our Houston urologists to improve patients’ lives
