What an amazing experience! I’m accustomed to a usually long wait time at a doctor’s office. I was 30 minutes early because of traffic concerns and I barely sat down before I was called into the office. Everyone I encountered was very friendly and efficient. Dr Sutton and his staff have given me the best medical care I have ever received. They got me in asap and he gave me the needed examination to determine the cause of my problems and very thoroughly explain the needed procedures. I opted for the lazer removal of my kidney stones and everything went great. He also found a tumor on my other kidney and am scheduled to have it removed 8/13/24 . I will be writing a review on that soon . I really do like the way he explained everything and took the time with me and my wife to explain what treatment will be needed in the future. Appointment was made quickly after initial contact. I arrived early due to leaving early for the expected Houston traffic. I was very pleased that there was no traffic problems this time. A Methodist urologist installed a penile implant and located the pump and reservoir where the operation and use were unsightly and uncomfortable - plus the valve leaked within 6 months. Wednesday's appointment with Dr. Mark Sutton and his staff was likely my best Doctor's visit in my 74 years.I arrived at 8:25 for my 8:30 appointment. I had NO ADDITIONAL PAPERWORK to fill out because I had done it online.Within 2 minutes, I was called to the back, peed in a cup, had my PSA blood work painlessly drawn and bladder scan done by a delightful, efficient assistant who had a very good sense of humor.Within another 5 minutes, Dr. Mark came bouncing in fully prepared with my previous visits' data, talked about golf, made encouraging comments about my good health choices, checked the dipstick, and had me outta there!The marvelous check out cashier whom I typically refer to as "the shake down crew", pleasantly said those rarely heard words, "You don't owe anything". I would like to start by saying that Dr. Sutton is an excellent doctor AND a great person as well.I am 66 years old and Dr. Sutton performed the surgery for the removal of my prostate approximately 6 years ago.Shortly after the biopsy results were received Dr. Sutton met with me to go over ALL of the treatment options. On that same day I made my decision to remove the prostate via the use of the da Vinci surgical method.I wanted to get the prostate out as quickly as possible and fortunately for me the doc and his office staff got me onto the surgical schedule quickly.I had never experienced any major surgery and I must admit I was a little scared going in. However, once they wheeled me into the surgical area Dr. Sutton was there to greet me. Thru his kindness and expertise he quickly put me at ease - Dr Sutton is awesome!!!My recovery was quick. Dr. Sutton is the best Dr. I have ever had. I had several stones and used a urologist in Clear Lake. My husband took me to this doctor and he sent me home, refusing to do a simple x-ray. My husband called his plant manager and he told us to see Dr. Mark Sutton. After seeing me, he immediately scheduled laser surgery as my stone was too big to pass. No record of prostrate problems/cancer in my family. After my annual physical, my PSA was up by 1.5 over last year. My internist sent me to Dr. Sutton for a 12 punch biopsy; 9 of the twelve had cancer or pre-cancer in them - Gleason was 7.1. After three meetings with Dr. Sutton, I decided that removing the prostrate was the only way to go. I decided against any form of radiation, because of the difficulty it imposes on any further treatments. With surgery, I still had the option of more surgery or radiation, should there be a reoccurrence. Next decision was where to have it done. Dr. Sutton was trained at the capital of da Vinci (Detroit). The surgeons in Detroit have done more da Vinci procedures than Dr. Sutton, but I was confident in his ability to do the surgery. So, my choice was da Vinci by Dr. Sutton. I am a technologist and know a great deal about computer-controlled devices; so, I was VERY comfortable with my decision. ALL the nerves and sexual function were spared; the bladder sphincter was spared and began working VERY WELL about a week after the catheter was removed. The biopsy of the prostrate showed the cancer was totally contained within the prostrate (let's hear it for annual checkups!), and the glands which were removed were completely free of cancer.
